At one time I had branches of various shapes and sizes all over the studio. I drew these branches in charcoal as I walked around them lying on the floor. I would drop a finished drawing to the floor where I stood, take a couple steps to the side, and draw another one. The drawings ended up splayed across the floor like frames from a kinetoscope. From each group of drawings I combined the various perspectives into a single drawing of a branch rotating in space.
